West Lancashire Community Safety Partnership is cracking down on anti-social behaviour in the run up to Mischief Night and Bonfire Night.The annual multi-agency Bright Sparx Campaign aims to build on the success of previous years. The Partnership will aim to reduce anti-social behaviour, such as the misuse of fireworks, criminal damage and the number of anti-social fires started deliberately.
Residents in West Lancs can now recycle clean aluminium foil, foil food containers and foil trays in their blue bin or blue box. All items should be washed first.The change has been introduced by West Lancashire Borough Council to help people recycle more of their household rubbish and reduce the amount that goes to landfill. Latest figures show that around 50% of household waste is recycled, thanks to the efforts of residents.
The Conservative Party Conference took place in Manchester between Sunday 4th October till Wednesday 7th October. It was well attended by West Lancs and South Ribble party activists, members and councillors. Attendees visited many fringe events, key note speeches and much more. The final day was when delegates heard the Prime Minister's speech.

Local Conservatives in West Lancashire have announced their candidates for two Ormskirk wards for the 2016 local elections. Thomas Burton, a school teacher who lives in Aughton has been chosen to fight for the Derby ward in the Local elections next May. Thomas who has lived in the Derby ward for several years wishes to represent the views and opinions of people on the Borough Council.
