The Conservative's deputy leader on the Borough Council's said local Conservatives were 'generally positive' after the local elections which saw them lose control of the authority.
Today, Coun. Adrian Owens said "Our results were a big improvement on 2012 with an especially strong win for Ruth Melling in Burscough East. Residents were generally positive about what we have been able to achieve. It was disappointing though to lose Knowsley by only 28 votes."
“The council is on a knife-edge and we go on into uncharted waters now. "
"We will continue to govern for the whole of West Lancashire but be mindful that we do not have an overall majority, so we will produce well thought out plans for West Lancashire and invite Labour to vote for them with us.”
