The Local Election Conservative message was taken to Edge Hill University at the Meet the Conservative Candidates night held on 14th May.
Edward McCarthy, Co-ordinator of West Lancs Conservative Future and Knowsley ward candidate in the 2014 elections, was joined by fellow candidates at the event held on campus.
Edward said: "We had a really positive response from the students at Edge Hill. As a party, we try to get as many young people as possible involved and the feedback we received was really good. We spoke to a number of students who want to help us win elections locally and ensure that Labour do not do to West Lancashire what they did to the country. We also spoke to some students who have been here for some time and they were impressed at how active Conservatives are locally. Many commented that they don't hear from Labour except for at election times, whereas Conservatives work hard all year round. Many students spoke to us about both the local elections and European elections."
West Lancs Conservative Future are very active in West Lancashire, they have previously organised social action / community projects as well as debate nights and social events for party members aged under 30.
On Monday 19th May Edge Hill University’s Student Union are holding a Meet the MEP Candidates session with representatives from all the parties, it starts at 1pm on campus.
