A young prospective Ormskirk councillor is encouraging people aged between 14 and 35 to get their heart tested.
Edward McCarthy, Conservative candidate for Knowsley Ward, is backing a push to get local young people screened for heart defects. The 34 year old will be among those attending the free Cardiac Risk In The Young (CRY) events at Edge Hill University in Ormskirk on Friday, April 4th and Saturday, April 5th. Edward, who works with people with learning difficulties, said: "It's important that young people take advantage of this free opportunity to get themselves screened. I will be having my heart tested and I encourage anyone aged between 14 and 35 to book a place."Simply go to www.testmyheart.org to book an appointment.
In April West Lancs Conservative Future are organising a quiz to raise funds for CRY. The Quiz will be on Wednesday 2nd April upstairs in the Hub at Edge Hill University at 6pm.
