A street stall was held in Ormskirk to give people the chance to put forward their views on policing to a candidate in the upcoming Police and Crime Commissioner elections.
Conservative Tim Ashton held the stall this week in Ormskirk as he continues his journey around Lancashire.
Mr Ashton aims to visit every town in the county to speak to members of the public ahead of the elections in November.
He said: “I’m a Lancashire lad and I have been a County councillor and Cabinet member for Highways and Transport in which capacity I have had many dealings with the police and I am most grateful for the help they have given me in establishing the popular 20mph speed limits.
"I believe that this week’s stall was very important and raised some new points which I will take away and consider.
“Primarily though it is clear the public want the police front line to be protected and, if I am elected, that is what I will be looking to do.
“I want to invest in front line officers, PCSOs and special constables and ensure that the police are not bound by targets."
