Skelmersdale Conservatives have secured action over a pothole-ridden road in the Holland Moor area of town.
Local County Councillor Carolyn Evans and community campaigner Cindy Miller have been fighting to have Back Lane resurfaced.
They put pressure on Lancashire County Council after noticing the issue themselves whilst doing a walkabout in the area to identify problems which need addressing.
County Cllr Evans, who represents Skelmersdale East on the County Council, said: "I am pleased the County Council has listened to our concerns and committed to repairing Back Lane. Signs are now out on Back Lane informing residents that works will be taking place shortly.
"There are a number of local roads across Skelmersdale which have been repaired recently thanks to the Conservative-controlled County Council. Local residents are delighted that, after years of neglect by the previous Labour administration at County Hall, there is now investment in local roads."
Cindy Miller added: "I am pleased to have worked with Carolyn on this issue. We lobbied the County Council hard and our campaign has ended in success.
"We will continue fighting hard for local residents."
