Council services reacted quickly to flooding in West Lancashire due to heavy rainfall on Thursday 16 June.
Council surveyors are visiting all the affected Council homes to assess any damage caused by flooding. The Council currently believes about 70 of its properties were affected. However, only 15 have so far been confirmed to have suffered internal flooding. The tenants worst affected had three feet of water in their homes. No tenants have needed to be rehoused.
West Lancashire Borough Council tenants who were flooded and have not reported this to us should contact the Council on 01695 577177 or email [email protected]. Please be patient as we are experiencing high call volumes at this time, but we will do our best to help you.
Anyone who has been flooded should also contact their insurance companies and take photos of any damage caused to their goods as this may help them with insurance claims.
West Lancashire Borough Council street sweepers have been out in the affected areas of Skelmersdale to clear debris off the roads and footpaths. If roads and gulleys are blocked please contact Lancashire County Council on 0300 123 6780 or email [email protected].
