West Lancs Conservatives met with seasoned political campaigner Hannah David this week at an evening held at Infusions in Burscough. Hannah is the National Director of the Conservative Policy Forum.
Hannah is a long standing member of the Conservative Party and a seasoned political campaigner. Having qualified as a solicitor in 1995, Hannah built a distinguished career as a property lawyer, rising to partner at Jaffe Porter Crossick in 2006. She has also developed a broad range of professional interests outside of her legal career, having served on the board of Elstree Film Studios and having set up her own small business. Hannah holds a masters degree in Spatial Planning from UCL.
In June 2015, Hannah founded Planning Futures, a new think tank dedicated to nurturing a new conversation about Town and Country planning. Hannah has long been interested in improving the quality of public policy debate within the UK and is looking forward to drawing on her planning expertise to find new ways forward for the planning process in UK.
Hannah is deeply passionate about the Conservative Party. She has been a Party activist for over 20 years and has served as a Conservative Borough Councillor and as the leader of Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council. In 2015, Hannah stood as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Harrow West. She was widely praised for her energy and leadership - achieving a 5.2% swing to the Conservatives and bringing the best result for the Party in Harrow West since 1992. Hannah's work in Harrow West led her to set up the successful Harrow Business Club, which attracted top speakers from politics and business.
The CPF is a national Party Group, chaired by the Rt Hon Oliver Letwin MP, the Minister for Government Policy, which gives members the opportunity to discuss the major policy challenges facing Britain. With active groups in every region the CPF is a fantastic way for Members of the Party to have their voices heard on some of the most important issues facing our country.
Edward McCarthy Deputy Chairman for Membership and Knowsley Ward 2016 Candidate said: "It was great to meet Hannah and to hear her plans regarding the Conservative Policy Forum groups. The CPF was set up to listen to party members issues and opinions and take them on board when making future Conservative Policy. With Hannah at the helm the CPF is going to go from strength to strength."
