Young people in Westhead have been treated to exciting new play and recreation facilities at the village playing fields, which will enhance visitor experience for all to enjoy.
A new play area for under-13s includes a spider’s web climbing frame and activity trail, and will complement the existing play area for 5 to 12-year-olds at the playing fields on School Lane.
A space created for teenagers has fun and challenging equipment for older young people and includes a zip line, stand up roundabout, multi person rope swing and cantilever basket swing.
West Lancashire Borough Council has provided the new facilities through public consultation with the residents of Westhead to seek their views. Funding for the project has come from developer contributions from nearby housing developments.
