People seeking to step onto the housing ladder may be eligible to buy a brand new apartment at a discounted price.
West Lancashire Borough Council has negotiated an arrangement with Persimmon Homes to make six two-bedroomed apartments available on the housebuilder’s popular development at Ainscough Mill in Burscough at a price of £83,995.
The price of these affordable homes represents a substantial discount of between 37% and 40% on the open market price, depending on the apartment type. The apartments will be made available to households in affordable housing need.
This discount sale scheme gives priority, subject to other scheme eligibility criteria being satisfied, to households who have a local connection to Burscough. This does not rule out other households from applying as they may be considered if local connection households do not come forward or are unable to proceed to purchase for some reason. People who buy these apartments are required to pass on the discount to the next purchaser when they come to sell their property in order to keep it affordable for future purchasers.
