Councillor David Sudworth, portfolio holder for Leisure, said: “Christmas will be here before you know it, so get in the festive mood by coming along to the gallery and enjoying one of its events.”
The gallery is open every Monday before Christmas in December as well as from Tuesday to Saturday, so this gives people more time to visit and enjoy the Objects of Desire exhibition, where they can choose a unique Christmas gift from fabulous items made by around 30 high-end designers. They can also see the showcase of magical and dreamlike work by award-winning artist Judy Musselle.
There will be plenty of Christmas cheer on the streets of Ormskirk with extra market days to give shoppers even more chances to buy Christmas presents.
In the run up to Christmas extra markets will take place so that there will be additional markets on Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 December 2014.
Due to the festive bank holidays falling on normal market days unfortunately there will be no markets on Thursday 25 December 2014 or Thursday 1 January 2015.
On each day it is open the market will operate from 8am-4pm.

And from Monday 1 December 2014 to Wednesday 24 December 2014 (inclusive), shoppers can save money when using the Council’s car parks. Visitors who buy a pay and display ticket will receive an additional two hours free parking.
This special offer applies only to Council-controlled pay and display car parks. So users should ensure they read car park signage.
However, this special offer for parking does not include the car park at the rear of Tesco, off Park Road, which is free for the first hour. A valid parking ticket must be displayed.
Councillor David Griffiths, portfolio holder for Town and Village Centres, said: “With the parking offers and extra markets Ormskirk is a great place to come this festive season. So make sure you come into town to do your Christmas shopping.”
Motorists should note that the two extra free hours will not be shown on the pay and display parking ticket purchased from a machine on a Council-controlled car park. So, for example, if you buy a ticket at 10am for one hour's parking the ticket will still show an expiry time of 11am. But, during the special offer period, you will be able to park until 1pm.
Notices explaining the offer will be on display at the Council-controlled car parks. All car park attendants are aware of the offer and will allow for the extra two hours after the indicated ticket expiry time.
This offer applies only to car parks controlled by the Council, but does not include the car park at the rear of Tesco, off Park Road, which is free for the first hour. A valid parking ticket must be displayed.
