West Lancashire Borough Council is urging people to check their details are correct on the 2016 Register of Electors.
The revised version of the Register of Electors is available for inspection, under supervision, during normal office hours at the Council Offices, 52 Derby Street, Ormskirk (Monday-Thursday 9.00am-5.00pm, Friday 9.00am-4.45pm).
You can also check your details by calling 01695 585018.
A Police and Crime Commissioner Election and Borough Council Elections in some Wards are taking place on 5 May 2016 and a Referendum may be called. People who are not on the Register of Electors will not be able to vote in those Elections or in any Referendum.
Gill Rowe, Returning Officer, said: “You need to be on the electoral roll to have your say in the Local, Police and Crime Commissioner Elections and any Referendum and incorrect details may result in residents not being able to vote – so it really is worth taking the time to check."
