Tory hopeful Thomas Burton - Conservative candidate for Ormskirk's Derby Ward in the May elections - says he is delighted that long overdue repairs to potholes on Greetby Hill, Ormskirk have taken place. Thomas says they took place after he and Cllr Paul Greenall contacted Lancashire County Council along with many other local residents about the poor state of the road surface. “After speaking to many local residents along Greetby Hill and the surrounding side streets it was clear to see that many residents were concerned about the poor state of the road.I spoke to several residents who showed me firsthand the damage which potholes have caused to their cars and bikes. Whilst I was speaking to a local resident over this issue I saw cars driving into the potholes which sprayed stones along the pavements. One local who lives near the repaired stretch welcomed the better surface but said it would only encourage drivers to speed once again."
