Local Conservative Candidate for Knowsley ward Edward McCarthy spent time tidying Railway Path in Ormskirk as part of the Clean for the Queen Project.
Edward said: “The steps had soil and weeds on them, they are now clear to walk down. Also a lot of litter and weeds have been cleared away. I have asked West Lancs Borough to look at adding more dog fouling signs along Railway Path and also to do a full litter pick. I have contacted Lancashire County Council and asked them to paint the handrails which are very rusty.”
Edward added: “I would like to thanks West Lancs Borough Council for providing litter bags and litter pickling devices, as well as taking the litter away. I also brightened the area by the steps by way of adding a few plants. The work shows what can be achieved and this shows what I would do if elected. Local Councillors should take pride in their area and organise projects like this.”
Meanwhile Edward has asked United Utilities to tidy up their land on Blackmoss Lane.
Edward said “There is a lot of litter / weeds here, it needs tidying up, I hope United Utilities get this done soon. It is an eyesore.”
