Sam Currie, the Conservative Candidate for West Lancashire, and Paul Maynard, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport, visited Burscough and Skelmersdale this week to discuss the need for capital investment in our local rail network.
Sam Currie, said: “I was delighted when the Rail Minister accepted my invitation to visit West Lancashire. It gave me the opportunity to discuss, and impress upon him, the importance of two key projects; the reinstatement of the Burscough Curves and a rail link for Skelmersdale. I was able to explain to him the tremendous economic and social benefits that these two projects would bring to West Lancs.”
Sam, also said: “I have been asked many times what my priorities are for West Lancs and Skelmersdale in particular and these two projects are at the top of the list along with investment in our highways and the delivery of a new town centre in Skelmersdale. I will pledge today to the people of Skelmersdale that if I win on June 8th I will improve transport links within the whole area.”
