A Parbold councillor has queried why a main village road hasn't been resurfaced when all roads leading to it have already been improved!
Cllr David Whittington, Conservative borough councillor for Parbold Ward, is working with local County Councillor David Westley to lobby highways chiefs at County Hall over the apparent lack of action regarding Chorley Road and Bannister Lane in Hilldale.
Cllr Whittington explained: "Lancaster Lane is due to be resurfaced in the next few months - meaning all the roads leading into the main Chorley Road and Bannister Lane route will have been resurfaced recently. Although these improvements are welcomed, the main route will remain in a very poor state of repair and, as far as we know, it has not yet been included in the County Council's resurfacing programme.
"I've spoken to a large number of residents who are perplexed by this. That’s why I've now called on the County Council to rectify this omission and have Chorley Road and Bannister Lane resurfaced as soon as possible."
