Dear Resident,
Yesterday, Labour-run Lancashire County Council rubber-stamped its decision to close many of our libraries and children’s centres.
We asked Labour to look again at their proposals. They refused.
This is a devastating blow to many communities across our county – with around 100 buildings closing; some possibly within days.
This is a result of Labour’s financial mismanagement and failure to take the difficult decisions needed to make our council more efficient and protect frontline services.
Over many months Lancashire Conservatives have argued passionately, in our communities and in Council, for these services to remain open. We want to thank everybody across the county who joined us by signing our petition and making your views heard.
We are hugely disappointed with Labour’s decision, but it's not over. If we take back control of the County Council next May, our Conservative plan for Lancashire will keep all existing libraries open as well as re-opening any that Labour have closed.
Yours sincerely,
Geoff
