An Ormskirk campaigner and prospective local Councillor has been lobbying highways chiefs over a major road in Ormskirk.
Edward McCarthy, who will fight Knowsley ward for the Conservatives at this May's local elections, has been fighting to get Cottage Lane and Claremont Drive resurfaced.
Edward said: “Cottage Lane and Claremont Drive are in urgent need of resurfacing, most potholes have been filled in again and again. 110 homes use Claremont Drive and there are 120 homes on Cottage Lane. I urge Lancashire County Council to look into my suggestion, otherwise it is a case of Labour-controlled Lancashire County Council wasting taxpayers’ money on temporary repairs."
Edward added: “The Highways Team work very hard to maintain 4300 miles of road. Yet almost £200,000 has been shelled out in compensation for pothole damage to vehicles in the last three years. Some of more potholed roads really need repairing first.”
