The newly formed Conservative Future branch in West Lancashire set out its stall for new members at Edge Hill’s Fresher’s Fayre on Wednesday.
Edward McCarthy, the group’s coordinator said: “We were very encouraged by the positive response we received from students at the Fayre. Young people feel robbed by the pitiful inheritance left to them by 13 years of Labour Government. In young adulthood, they are increasingly attracted by the Conservative message of freedom with responsibility. We were pleased to attract a good number of new members to part with their cash and join the new West Lancs Conservative Future branch.”
The new branch sees its first main event on the 7th October at O’Este Restaurant in Ormskirk at 8pm. The event is open to young people under 30 who share Conservative principles. Edward McCarthy concluded: “Branches in other areas have mixed political events such as receptions with MPs with fun social events. Come to our first such event in West Lancs, meet like-minded people and have some lovely tapas and wine too!”
