Cllr David Sudworth, Conservative cabinet leisure spokesman, said: "I'm pleased a number of community groups and individuals are once again benefiting from the Conservative council's Community Chest.
"For some groups, a successful application to this fund is the difference between being able to carry on providing a service to the communities they serve or not. For other new organisations, it provides them with the cash injection they need to get started.
"Labour councillors have publicly stated they would axe the Community Chest if they ran the council. It's important that we continue to do all we can to support local organisations and not pull the rug from under them as Labour would do."
