Why there are so many potholes in Ormskirk and why have our roads deteriorated so much in the 2 years since Labour gained control of Lancashire County Council?
This is the by far the most common issue raised by voters when asked on the doorstep during the election campaign.
Councillor Rob Bailey, Knowsley Ward said: "This is the really big issue raised by my residents and it is fully justified. Cottage Lane has deteriorated so much in the last year it now resembles a farm track with some bone shaking potholes that must be doing untold damage to the car suspensions."
Edward McCarthy, Derby Ward Candidate said: "It was uncanny when the Ormskirk Candidates and their party helpers sat down to review the feedback from voters. The recurring message was concerns about potholes. There are so many that are very deep and a major problem for motorists who are regularly seen to swerve to miss them or cyclists and motorcyclists that are in real danger of an accident".
Bill Weingart, Scott Ward Candidate said: "There does not seem to be any signs of the Government's extra funding in Ormskirk. Someone needs to demand action by the County Council."
