A FORMER Royal Navy sailor and the Conservative candidate for West Lancashire has said he believes jobs in the constituency would be under threat if Labour came to power
Sam Currie, who spent six years in the armed forces, said hundreds of people across the county rely on jobs at companies such as BAE Systems, which manufacturer fighter jets.
He said: “Having spent six years in the Royal Navy I know how important it is to have proper defences in place.
“Jeremy Corbyn would be a threat to our national security. He wants to withdraw from NATO, the group of our closest allies who together help make Britain and the world safer, while the Conservatives are investing in our armed forces and meeting the NATO 2 per cent target. Labour would also be a threat to all those people across Lancashire who rely on jobs at BAE Systems."
“Our armed forces are very close to my heart and I believe that only a vote for Theresa May and the Conservatives can secure the strong and stable leadership that we need to back them and keep Britain safe.”
