The Ormskirk Conservative Team are holding a tidy up afternoon in Ormskirk as part of the Clean for the Queen Project.
Edward McCarthy, Candidate for Knowsley Ward said: “I recently read about the Clean for the Queen scheme. Clean for The Queen is a campaign to clear up Britain in time for Her Majesty the Queen's 90th birthday, which will be officially celebrated in June 2016. When she came to the throne litter was not the problem that it is today. Food packaging, plastic bottles, takeaway meals and cigarette butts have all contributed to a growing menace that affects our wildlife, streets, countryside and sense of pride. What better way could we show our gratitude to Her Majesty than by cleaning up parts of Ormskirk? Community Tidy Ups are fun and a great way to strengthen communities."
Thomas Burton, Candidate for Derby Ward said, "This shows our growing commitment to making Ormskirk an even more welcoming, friendly and cleaner environment. By coming along to the event you will help Ormskirk become a tidier place for local residents of all ages and it will enable you to meet new people within our community."Edward added: “Our event takes place on Sunday the 20th March, starting at 1pm at 72C New Court Way, Ormskirk. We already have a list of parts of Ormskirk we would like to tidy, but would like residents to suggest places too. If residents have any ideas please email [email protected].”
On the day just bring a drink, suitable clothing and footwear. In association with West Lancashire Borough Council and Tidy Up Britain's Clean for The Queen project.
