Voters in 18 West Lancashire Wards and 6 Parish areas will go to the polls on Thursday 3 May for the 2018 local elections. More information can be found by visiting www.westlancs.gov.uk/elections2018.
You can vote in the elections even if you can’t get to your polling station on that day.
If you don’t think you will be able to go to your polling station then you can apply for a postal vote. Alternatively you can apply for a proxy vote, where someone you nominate can go to your polling station to cast your vote on your behalf.
Kim Webber, Returning Officer for West Lancashire, said: “There are many reasons to choose to use this process, you don’t need to be away or be housebound to apply for a postal or a proxy vote. Contact the Borough Council as soon as you can and make sure you can vote in these elections. Anyone who wants to vote in this year’s elections, either by post, proxy or going to the polling station, must be on the Electoral Register.”
